Heathrow Terminal 2

Back to Portfolio

Deanestor supplied Furniture, Fittings and Equipment for the new Heathrow Terminal 2, ‘The Queen’s Terminal’, a £2.5 billion project. We are proud to have been selected for this important major airport development in the UK.

The new terminal, opened officially on 23rd June by Her Majesty the Queen, will provide connections to more than 1,250 destinations.

Deanestor utilised our supply chain experience to source a wide range of equipment, including weighing machines, white goods, space dividers, projectors and screens, whiteboards, noticeboards, water coolers, fire extinguishers, bins and clocks. Furniture supplied included beverage stations for staff areas, executive & meeting desks, swivel chairs and workstations, café tables and chairs, tub chairs, stacking chairs, cupboards and cabinets, shelving, engineering benches, cloakroom benches and lockers.

In total, there are 118,000 items of equipment in the airport terminal and it is expected that 1 billion passengers will pass through it in the next 50 years.

There are 33 shops and 17 food outlets in the new terminal, including many Quality British brands.  The terminal will be home to the Star Alliance group of airlines and the first flight, United Airlines, landed on Wednesday 4th June 2014, in a staged airline move taking place over 6 months.

By the end of 2014, 26 airlines will operate from the terminal, with over 300 daily flights to worldwide destinations.
