Dunfermline Learning Campus, Fife
The fitout of two high schools at Dunfermline Learning Campus in Fife marks Deanestor’s largest education sector contract to date—a £5m project delivered for BAM for Fife Council. The project is located within a New Learning Campus district in Dunfermline which is located 5 minutes from our Scottish Office. The new Learning Campus will also shortly be home to the New Fife College.
The project GIFA is 26,660m2 representing a massive education facility and is one of the largest of its type in the UK.
The campus is also one of the UK’s largest Passivhaus-certified education buildings, designed to enhance internal comfort levels while significantly reducing energy consumption and life cycle maintenance.
Deanestor supplied over 42,000 items of fitted furniture, loose furniture & equipment for St Columba’s RC High School and Woodmill High School.
Our scope included the manufacture and installation of:
Learning walls.
Clever cabinetry & storage solutions.
Worktops and shelving.
Specialist technology fitments.
Our team fitted over 500 rooms across the two schools and their shared facilities.
The interior design concept is built on the principles of openness, connectivity, and inclusivity. The colour palette reflects the individual branding and identity of each school, incorporating greys and muted greens and blues to echo Fife’s natural landscape, industrial heritage, and ongoing growth.
Deanestor’s fitted furniture and joinery are finished in white and various shades of grey, providing a clean and contemporary aesthetic that complements the campus’s architectural vision.
This state-of-the-art campus will provide a seamless transition from secondary education to further education, training, and employment, offering students a dynamic and future-focused learning experience.
While the two high schools will maintain their individual identities, they will share world-class core facilities, including:
Assembly halls
Dining areas
Outdoor education zones
Multi-purpose sports pitches
The new campus also features:
Learning plazas to encourage collaboration.
Digitally enabled learning zones.
Outdoor learning areas.
Break-out booths for independent study.
A pioneering learning lab with performance analysis technology.
A media studio and recording booth.
Specialist food technology spaces.
Extensive creative project areas.
With a strong track record in delivering large-scale campus projects and award-winning educational architecture, we ensure all fitouts are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
